On Saturday, December 13th, ACA members gathered at the
Capital Area Food Bank of Texas to volunteer for an afternoon in the processing warehouse. HUGE thanks to Christine Anderson for organizing this event - it was such a success!

Listening to rules. Some of these people are ACA-ers, and some are INTERLOPERS (er, other volunteer groups). |

Gina makes volunteering look like the BEST THING IN THE WORLD! |
Our volunteer supervisor for the day. He was full of jokes to keep the day fun. |
Gettin' to work! |

Theresa Thomas, Label-Writing Extraordinaire! |
Gina Higby: the new poster child of the Capital Area Food Bank. |
The woman who made it all happen! Major props to Christine for organizing us for such a fun and productive day of service. |

KJ showing those boxes who's boss. |
Dee-lightful! |
Don't worry, there was time for a little dance party. |
So, Jinane Sounny-Slitine and I were in charge of disassembling and reassembling banana boxes into cubes for a very mysterious purpose (seriously, we never learned what our banana box cubes were being used for. But we worked hard on them anyway!).

Your Historian (rarely seen in front of the camera these days), Sarah McKay, and partner-in-crime, Jinane Sounny-Slitine, creating mysterious banana box cubes like BOSSES. |
The best part of the day for me was enjoying all the banana box marketing puns:
"Watta banana?! Thanks a watt for this banana!" |
Not punny, just cute. |
ACA is the coolest bunch to hang with! |
Check out the huge group of volunteers representing ACA! |
Thanks to all our ACA members who took some time during the holiday season to give back to the community and help build our ACA community at the SAME TIME. We look forward to more ACA service days in the future!
